Oil Kings Scout Night and Sleepover

oil-kings-scout-night-info-package-16-17_page_1Join Scouts Canada for the first Scouts Night & Sleepover at Rogers Place! The event will be held on January 21, 2017. Tickets are $22; Registration and forms are due by December 12, 2016. We need to submit our numbers for the Oil Kings Scout Night and would like to know who will be attending. Please RSVP online and let us know if you will be joining us for the game/sleepover. Beavers and Cubs who wish to spend the night must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who has completed the Safe Scouting for Parents session, signed the Code of Conduct and completed the Non-member Physical Fitness Form.

  • Post-Game Autograph Session
  • Post-Game Rally
  • Post-Game Movie on the Jumbotron
  • Light breakfast will be provided in the morning

Event night details

All Youth are to wear their Uniforms (either casual or formal) and Neckers!

  1. General Arrival Time – Doors open at 6:00 PM, the game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. We would like to meet by the west entrance of Ford hall and then from there we will be directed to our drop off area. Please plan to arrive no later than 6:00 PM on January 21st.
  2. Wristbands – You must wear your wristband for the duration of the event, from entering the building until leaving the next morning. Please ensure that your wristband is visible at all times, and please write your troop # on your wristband.
  3. Waivers – For non scouters (parents/siblings) that are sleeping over you must fill out one of the following waivers Adult Waiver or Child Waiver. For all scouting youth, if you haven’t already filled out the consent form, please fill one out and bring it with you Parent Consent Form.
  4. Equipment – If you are sleeping over you can leave and retrieve your equipment as long as you have a wristband; they will be supplied by Scouter Rob in Ford Hall. Alternatively you can bring your equipment in with you at 6:00PM, we will have to attach a blue tag to your equipment, there are two per person sleeping over and only two. Please no garbage bags or loose items. There is a designated area to leave our equipment. We will be directed there on arrival.
  5. Parking and Entry – Parking can be secured in advance through Parking Panda. Reservations for an available parking location can be made anytime on Parking Panda’s website or through their iOS and Android apps. https://www.parkingpanda.com/rogers-place-edmonton-parking
    You can reserve parking at all Impark lots around Rogers Place from 5:00 PM Saturday, January 21st until 9:00 AM, Sunday, January 22nd. You can also make use of the loading/drop off zone on 104 Ave.
  6. Banned Items – Items such as firearms, knives, flares, drugs and outside alcohol are banned from Rogers Place, please search your bags thoroughly to ensure that none of these items are in your equipment. Please reference http://www.rogersplace.com/a-z-guide/ under Prohibited Items for a full list of items to leave at home.
  7. Outside food and drink – Concessions will be open for the duration of the game and the movie. Breakfast will be served at 7:00AM the morning after. Please refrain from bringing outside food and drink.
  8. Lights Up, pack up, and Breakfast (6:00 AM-8:00 AM) – Our food and beverage partners, Aramark, have generously sponsored a light complimentary breakfast for the Scouts Sleepover. It will be available starting at 7:00 AM in Ford Hall. Please help yourselves and exit the building by 8:00 AM at the latest, and thank you for participating in the 7th Annual Scouts Sleepover!

Equipment list: (keep in mind it all must be in your backpack)

  • Pajamas
  • Change of clothes for the morning

  • required medications (scouters cannot administer)
