Our next meeting for all sections will be on Monday evening, September 25, from 6:15 – 7:30 pm at Westboro Elementary School (1078 Strathcona Dr). We will be having an all-sections Investiture Ceremony to welcome our new members. Youth should come in full uniform.

Investiture is when new youth and leaders, or youth that have advanced through swim-up or walk-up, pledge the promise and law and become part of their new section. This family event is a very special and rewarding time for our youth as they enter or advance in the scouting family. New members will be presented with our group necker and insignia. We invite parents to share in this special ceremony.

After the Investiture Ceremony, we will be doing a popcorn kick-off presentation for all sections, followed by a parent information meeting. Parents are requested to stay for both of these important meetings.

Uniform

If you have not yet obtained a uniform for your child, please make sure you do so before our Investiture Ceremony. Uniforms for all sections are available at the Scout Shop located at the Adventure Centre in Edmonton (14205 109 Ave), or online. You will need a uniform shirt (long sleeves preferred for Cubs and Scouts) and Beaver vest and hat (Beavers only). The group will provide neckers, woggles, and insignia. Here is information on insignia placement for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Venturers. Scout Shop hours are: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.

• Cubs – Long-sleeved Grey Shirt
• Scouts – Long-sleeved Green Shirt
• Venturers – Long-sleeved Navy Shirt

We would like to offer a uniform recycling program. If you have a section uniform that your child has outgrown, please consider donating it to our group. We will offer any used uniforms we have available for purchase, with proceeds going to the group.
