Announcements and Information:
Want to know more information about the Damboree Camp?
What: The 2020 Alberta Beaver Damboree
Where: Camp Woods, Sylvan Lake, AB (map)
When: June 12-14, 2020 (Friday night until Sunday afternoon)
Who: Beavers from all across Alberta.
Why: To have fun, camp, and learn about science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), and outdoor skills
The Damboree is the big camp of the year, held by the Northern Lights Council at Camp Woods outside of Sylvan Lake, AB. Beavers groups from across Alberta come together to have fun, go camping, and learn some cool STEM projects.
Part of this year’s camp will be the requirement to build a chariot out of cardboard and other items to use to transport equipment between events throughout the weekend.
The Beavers will be camping in tents, cooking outdoors, and hiking, canoeing, singing songs, and having campfires. The first night is a special night for the White Tails as they get to link with the White Tails from other groups, stay in cabins, and do some special projects. Meanwhile the Brown and Blue Tails will be camping as a group.
It’s a great opportunity for the youth to meet Beavers from other parts of Alberta, do some fun camping activities, and make wonderful memories.
*Early registration is coming up shortly, and payments/registration forms for early registration are due at the March 9, meeting.
