3rd Annual Baden-Powell Family Dinner

Come join the 203 Scouting Family for our Third Annual Baden- 
Powell Family Dinner, to celebrate the birthday of Lord Robert
Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement. This will be an evening of food and fun including skits, door prizes, and a silent auction. We will be serving a Ukrainian dinner sponsored by our friends at Cheemo Perogies and Fifendekel.

When: Saturday, February 23, 2019, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Where: Bethel Lutheran Church, 298 Bethel Drive

Tickets: $10 per person (children aged 4 and under by donation)

We are hoping to sell 200 tickets to this event, so please invite grandparents and other family members, friends, and neighbours. We need the help of all of our families in gathering donations for door prizes and silent auction items. If you own a business, please consider donating a product or service for this fundraiser. If you know of a local business that might be able to donate a prize or item for our auction, please feel free to download and print the donation request letter to share.

Year-end Canoe Adventure – May 28

For our final meeting, we will be having a year-end review and Cubs and Scouts will be linking up for a canoeing adventure on the evening of Monday, May 28th. Please dress for the weather, and bring a hat, water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray!

Time: Meet at 5:45, meeting activities will run from 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Beaver Meeting – May 28, 2018

Monday May 28th: This week the Beavers will be meeting at Westboro Elementary School from 6:15 to 7:30 for a bike safety night. Beavers should bring their bikes and a helmet.

A reminder that the remainder of the meetings are outdoors with no access to the school. Please dress for the conditions. Remind youth to bring a water bottle, and use the washroom before the meeting.

Monday June 4th: Beavers will be meeting at Centennial Park for a family fun night.

Drop-Off: Friday, May 25 @ 6:00pm
Pick-up: Sunday, May 27 @ 1:00pm

Come join the 203 Cub Pack for the Beaver Hills/Rivers Edge 2018 Cuboree at the CFB Edmonton, AB. This weekend will be full of fun and engaging adventures for all attendees, and provide an opportunity to experience some early spring camping with your fellow Cub Packs.

The theme for this year’s Cuboree will be “OAS Amazing Race”; all activities will be based on some of the nine OAS Skills in the Canadian Path. Groups will move to different stations through out the Saturday and Sunday testing and challenging their skills that they have learned through the year as well as learned some they may not have done yet.

Please bring Youth to camp fed on Friday night – we will provide all snacks; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday; and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Let Camp Chief Roland Carignan know of any special dietary needs at least one week prior to camp (cubs@203sherwoodparkscouts.ca).

Tents are provided for Cubs and Scouters – 2 to 3 youth per tent. A Camp Gear List is included in this package to ensure youth come properly equipped for all types of weather. We strongly suggest that your youth’s clothing items are labeled with their name and everything is packed in a duffel bag or backpack.

This is an Electronic Free Camp – Youth are not able to bring any electronic devices (i.e. plays movies, music, or games).

The scouts will be meeting at Centennial Park to plan their upcoming Spring Thaw camp.

When: 2018MAY14 – 6:30-800

The agenda is as follows:

  • Meal Plan
  • Patrol Assignments
  • Team building – The spring thaw camp is a challenge camp. The youth will have to leverage each others stregths and work together to succeed.
  • Camp fire Skit/song
  • Learn how do a diamond lash

With any luck we’ll learn to build this dish washing gadget… or at least talk about it 🙂

Monday May 14, the Cubs will be meeting at New Horizons School from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. We will be working on our STEM project and menu planning for our upcoming Cuboree.

There will be no meeting on Monday, May 21 due to the Victoria Day holiday.

Monday, May 28 will be our final meeting of the year.

Monday May 14th the Beavers will be meeting at Westboro Elementary School for bring a friend night! The Beavers will be sharing their compass skills, building paper rockets and playing fun games!

We will be meeting in the soccer field on the west side of the school.

Roadside Clean-up – May 16

Roadside Clean-up – May 16

When: Wednesday, May 16, 2017; 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Where: Meet at the corner of Township Road 554 and Range Road 220 (Range Road 220 North of Highway 15).

Please help out at our Spring Roadside Clean-up to help keep Strathcona County looking great while earning some funds for our group! We encourage all Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, and parents to participate. This is a great opportunity for the group to make $2000; the more participants we have come out, the shorter time it will take for us to complete. This is a mandatory fundraiser for youth participating in PJ 2019.

Cub Meeting – May 7

Monday May 7, the Cubs will be meeting at New Horizons School with the Beavers and Scouts from 6:30 to 8:00 pm for our year-end swim-up/walk-up and awards ceremony.  This is an exciting celebration and we encourage parents and family members to stay for the meeting.  We have three Howlers who will be receiving their Seeonee Awards, the highest award in Cub Scouts.  We will also bid them farewell as they walk up to Scouts.
