Group
The 203 Sherwood Park Scout Group, was created in 2013 with the combining of the 152 Mills Haven and 181 Westboro Groups. We have a large group of dedicated and talented leaders and group members who have moved through the Scouting sections with their youth and some who have remained with the group even after their youth have grown up and moved onto other things. These leaders bring a broad spectrum of specialties and talents who love to share their experiences with the youth, this allows for a very strong program experience.
We are always looking for new leaders and group members. Being a leader is extremely rewarding, educational and lots of fun. To be a leader you don’t require past experience in the Scouting movement, you just need to be willing to help youth experience and learn new things with you. Training courses (on-line and in-person) can take place over an evening, full day, weekend, or at the camps we host for the youth. Some of this training is mandatory and some is optional depending on what you would like to learn. The benefit to you is that you are helping your own youth as well as others. Not all opportunities require you to participate with the youth; we are always on the look out for parents who have the skills and are able to help us with a variety of roles on the group committee including project management, event planning, logistics, finance, communications and secretary.
We hope that you will consider participating to make this scouting program sustainable and successful. If you are interested or are would like additional information, please contact our Group Commissioner or Administrator.
