Meeting Information – September 26
Our next meeting will be on Monday, September 26, 2016 for all sections at Wye Elementary School (163 22560 Wye Rd). Beavers will meet from 6:15 – 7:30, and Cubs and Scouts will meet from 6:30 – 8:00. We will be holding our group Investiture Ceremony from 6:45 – 7:30.
Investiture is when new youth and leaders, or youth that have advanced through swim-up or walk-up, pledge the promise and law and become part of their new section. This family event is a very special and rewarding time for our youth as they enter or advance in the scouting family. New members will be presented with our group necker and insignia. We invite parents to share in this special ceremony.
Uniform
If you have not yet obtained a uniform for your child, please make sure you do so before our Investiture Ceremony. Uniforms for all sections are available at the Scout Shop located at the Adventure Centre in Edmonton (14205 109 Ave), or online. You will need a uniform shirt (long sleeves preferred for Cubs and Scouts) and Beaver vest and hat (Beavers only). The group will provide neckers, woggles, and insignia. Here is information on insignia placement for Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts. Scout Shop hours are: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.
- Beavers – Vest ($23.99), Hat ($14.99), and shirt (optional, $13.99)
- Cubs – Long-sleeved Grey Shirt ($32.99)
- Scouts – Long-sleeved Green Shirt ($32.99 – $34.99)
We would like to offer a uniform recycling program. If you have a section uniform that your child has outgrown, please consider donating it to our group. We will offer any used uniforms we have available for purchase, with proceeds going to the group.
